A new camera
I have swapped loyalties, selling my Konica Dynax 5D in favour of an Olympus Evolt E-510. For £50 less than the Konica, it has more megapixels, weighs less, came with two lenses and has an anti-dust system which should keep my images free of specks.
The Olympus allows me to shoot in RAW and JPEG formats at once, with the capability to resize the JPEG to a VGA suitable thumbnail. What these abbreviations mean is that I can bring the camera home from a walkabout and have images at my fingerips ready for uploading to the website. This saves me the time of cropping, editing and resizing my photos which should encourage me to update the site more often.
So here, fresh from a weekend in London, is a sample of my first images on the new camera.
It was a rainy day in London...

and the flowers were in bloom...

but the sun came out later...

which made for some interesting shadows...
as I explored a neglected corner of the Big Smoke.

Here's to a new phase in my photography!
